Our culture

We value our people, and are proud to say that all of our staff have been with us for many years. Jeremy Wong bought the practice in 2003 from our founder, Peter Gates. Angela Garner and Lee Pittard have since taken over the reins in 2018, and have kept the team together.

Should you come and visit us on a Friday you will likely hear classical music being played, a tradition we have carried on from our optical glazing craftsman, Dan McCabe who earned the nickname, the singing Scotsman. Dan was with us for over 25 years before retiring in 2020 and has passed on his legendary skills to Jeremy and Lee.

Our city

We care a lot about our back yard. It’s where many of us grew up, and you’ll often find us out tramping whenever we get the chance. Wherever possible we aim to reduce waste in our business. Equally important are the people that make up our city.

We are proud to have a a long history of mentoring and training Optometry students by offering them hands on experience through Saturday work. This enables them to gain invaluable hands on experience to compliment their training.
