Our Optometrists team will ascertain what is the best and most appropriate type of contact lens for you and your eyes depending on a number of things:
- How often you want to wear contacts; all the time or just occasionally for sport .
- Your prescription; whether we need specialised contacts that focus better and more accurately than standard contact lenses like mulitfocal or toric lenses that correct for astigmatism.
- The health of your eyes; if you are a previous wearer or if you have dry eyes.
The contact lens examination looks at all the above and then we choose from the vast array of lenses available what will be the best for you. Then we let you trial a pair to see if they are right for you, teaching you how to insert and remove the lenses and how to look after them and be a successful contact lens wearer. After a successful trial we prescribe the contacts for you to purchase.
We recommend an annual contact lens examination so your eyes are checked and that you are wearing the most appropriate and healthy type of contacts.
There are always new developments and new products from the contact lens companies that we can offer you. Like high oxygen lenses to reduce dryness and progressive contacts to help you read see in the distance.
